Introduction

The Details

The Requirement

Seeing a healthy growth in their pharmaceutical sector, our Wokingham based client specialising in various areas of scientific analysis decided to take more office space to expand their pharma division.

Turning to Gelidus for expert advise in designing and installing new air conditioning and ventilation systems, we quickly set to work on providing the perfect environment for their complex studies.

Whilst temperature stability was critical for their studies, other factors such as staff comfort, removal of airboure contaminants and a sufficient supply of clean, fresh air to validate the performance of their various fume cupboards all had to be taken into account.

The Solution

With the client’s other facilities being served by air conditioning and ventilation equipment from Mitsubishi Electric, we saw no reason to deviate from the brand given their comprehensive product range, proven reliability and the familiarity the client had already built up with the control and operation of the systems.

With the new space comprising of a weighing room, 3 laboratories, a process room, sample stores, offices and a meeting room, temperature control was provided via a ‘City Multi’ heat-recovery VRF system from Mitsubishi via concealed ducted type air conditioners in the laboratories spaces and wall-mounted air conditioners in the smaller rooms.

Ventilation was provided by 2 No. Lossnay heat-recovery ventilation units capable of providing up to 2000 m3 of filtered fresh air every hour.

The client was delighted with the outcome of the project and are now enjoying continued grow their pharmaceutical division from their smart new facility.
