Installation of a new VRF system for the Infiniti showroom and admin areas

The Details

The Requirement

We were approached by Nissan’s premier brand ‘Infiniti’ back in 2011 when they were experiencing problems with the air conditioning system that provided both the heating and cooling to their striking new dealership in Reading.

After resolving a number of issues relating to the original installation, Infiniti appointed Gelidus to maintain their equipment.  As time went on it became clear that inherent design problems their equipment were impacting reliability, and with no support being offered by the manufacturer it was agreed that the installation of replacement equipment was the only sensible way forward.

The Solution

A 3-phase upgrade plan was proposed by Gelidus to allow the centre to spread the cost of replacement, and in December 2016 the troublesome system serving the showroom was removed and replaced with a more efficient and reliable heat-pump system from Mitsubishi Electric.

In the year that followed, the original system serving the reception, sales and service offices was similarly upgraded, and at the end of 2017 the system serving the various offices on the first floor was upgraded to leave the client with equipment that performed better, cost less to run and provided the reliability they’d not seen since occupation.

Results

The Results Were Amazing

  • Improved Air Flow 94% 94%
  • Improved Efficiency 65% 65%
  • Annual Cost Savings 37% 37%
  • Reliability 99% 99%

“The phased upgrade was the right decision for us, and we’re grateful for Gelidus for their expertise and diligence in planning and executing the works.  We’re really pleased with the outcome.”
